It has established itself in the dynamic central part of the region as the first point of contact for company founders and new business. INDUSTRY PARK and Völkermarkt GIG The industry park in Völkermarkt
covers an area of just under 40 hectares and is in a prime location, 1
km from the motorway (Völkermarkt-Ost junction), providing a direct link
with the major routes to Italy, Slovenia and Vienna. Fully developed
plots are available to industrial and commercial companies. The
Völkermarkt Industry Park also incorporates the GIG (Gründer-,
Innovations- und Gewerbezentrum – start-up, innovation and business
centre) for companies wishing to rent office and workshop space.
Designed by top architect Günther Domenig, the start-up centre is

TPV VILLACH TECHNOLOGY PARK since September 2001, tpv has been a big success. Business is booming at the
centre in Villach, in the St. Magdalen region, which is home to over 70
different companies. The great strength of the Villach Technology Park
lies in the interaction between business, research (Carinthian Tech
Research, Micronas) and training (Carinthia University of Applied
Sciences and “Silicon Wifi”). The Microelectronic Cluster, a well-known
network for cooperation between microelectronics and electronics
businesses and research centres, has also established itself at the tpv. |

ARNOLDSTEIN INNOVATION CENTRE is the first location in Carinthia to have an extensive state-of-the-art fibre-optic cable network for exceptionally fast data transmission. There are also plans to create a “Zukunftslabor” (“Future Lab”) at the innovation centre, where Carinthian software companies can test applications with large volumes of data. As a result, the spatial infrastructure is also being redesigned for regional IT development projects. The centre’s main goal is the initiation and implementation of broadband-based CAS (content, applications, services) projects involving high-definition video services, X-ray applications for medicine, E-government, etc. The Arnoldstein Regional Innovation Centre is housed in two office blocks with the latest equipment.
